Give the Best Gift for 2021

The best gift for a child in Latin America could be a year of Icthus ministry with activities and learning; and for an impoverished family, it could be food and other compassionate aid. 

During this past year life has been very challenging for many children in Latin America.  Please help by giving the best for the new year.  

Covid-19 and hurricanes made 2020 very difficult.

        The story of Alejandra, from El Salvador, is an excellent example of the difficulties of a family in need:

          Alejandra is a 12-year-old Icthus girl from Tonatepeque.  This town is a dangerous place where school dropouts are typical. Children are afraid to go to school due to the gang violence they face every day.  Even though Alejandra lives in the middle of crime and poverty, she wants to become a nurse to help her family.

          Alejandra’s parents, Raul and Delmy, have a small tailor shop in their home. Due to the informal nature of their business, they have been struggling financially for years. Sadly, the pandemic has left them without any income for months.

          Alejandra and her family remain severely affected financially. This is an obstacle for Alejandra to follow her dreams.
