More Icthus kids need a Padrino!

In January 2022, Icthus was helping 8,000 children.  By 2023, Icthus had reached 11,000 kids! 

This growth represents a challenge; more children need a Padrino to help them have a consistent ministry.

A Padrino means godparent in Spanish.  Icthus Padrinos give monthly.  The value of being a Padrino is that you can help more children by giving a little each month rather than a few larger gifts each year.

As a Padrino, you can provide children in need with bible education, fun activities, and a safe place to meet weekly with their guides and friends.  In Icthus, these children are given the opportunity to become leaders transforming their families, churches, and communities.  

The following story is an example of how Padrinos have helped, and are helping to  develop leaders in Latin America by providing consistent ministry to children and youth.  

Children like Moises, from Honduras, need a Padrino:

Last year, Ximena visited an Icthus kid named Moises (11) in Monte Verde, Honduras.  There, children and families face struggles daily. Moises and his family are no exception. 

Moises was 3 when his mom died, and he went to live with his grandfather.  A few years ago, he also lost his grandfather.  All the loss made Moises feel lonely.  He became irresponsible at home and started hanging out with other kids that introduced him to satanic games. Moises needed a change in his life.   

A few months ago, Moises was invited to Icthus, and his life started to change…

In Icthus, Moises is learning the importance of being a Christ follower and becoming more responsible.  He is not lonely anymore but has Christian friends, and his guides positively influence his life.

 Today, Moises has improved his grades in school. Even though he has experienced loss and poverty, he found a purpose; and hopes to become a physician in honor of his mother, who was a nurse.  In Icthus, Moises is learning Christian leadership and wants to change lives!
