May is the month of Mother's Day, but it is difficult for many mothers of Icthus kids to celebrate right now. Covid19 is worsening in Latin America. This is causing crime, violence, and poverty to increase rapidly. Many families need food, and their children need ministry!

There is a third wave of Covid19 in Latin America. According to Reuters, the region is reporting almost million new infections every 7 days. The death toll is larger per day than what it was in 2020.
Numbers aside, the pandemic has hurt Icthus. Many leaders were infected, and sadly, some passed due to this awful virus. I am worried about the families of Icthus kids.
Colombia is in social crisis due to violent protests. Poor families are suffering hunger now that food is lacking! In Honduras, the poverty level is rising. Parents of Icthus children have lost their jobs. Many children have had to drop out of school to work with their parents.
Can you imagine being a parent in a situation like this? It must be scary figuring out how to provide for your children’s future.

Liliana is a 24-year-old mom, struggling in a poor barrio of Colombia, she shared:
You can help a mother like Liliana, with compassionate aid and ministry during the 3rd spike of Covid19 in Colombia.
"My name is Liliana. I live in Maguange, Colombia. I have a 4-year-old boy, Luis. He is in Icthus.
We are poor. Our home is a tiny hut that my husband and I built. Our neighborhood lacks sewers; our electricity and water are borrowed.
My husband is a fisherman. When there are no fish, he offers his labor services by the day. We live day to day. The Coronavirus has made everything worse! Without work for my husband and me being pregnant, all we can do is pray.
One day, we got a wonderful surprise. Icthus guides came with a big box of food; I was relieved to see God's provision for our family. Luis was very excited to see his guides, who gave him printed Icthus en Casa materials."
Liliana and her family are one of the thousands that need help. Unlike her, many of them haven't been helped by an Icthus Amigo. Many need help today!
