Happy Birthday, Amigo!
Because you’ve been a part of Icthus I consider this your 57th Birthday, too.
Knowing of your interest in helping young people, I’m excited to share some news with you! Four Icthus Amigos have pledged to match all donations up to $4,000. Would you help reach part of this match to help children and families?
It’s a miracle that Icthus has kept going for 57 years. I’m amazed at what the Lord has done through Amigos like you and leaders in Latin America. Over 120,000 young people have been helped! How many more can we help?
This birthday match is a great opportunity to help more. If you give $35 it will be matched and equal $70. Twice as many children & families will receive help.
Guidance and healthy activities are essential for the sound development of all children. However, most children in Latin America don’t have programs like this because they live in poor communities. Icthus would make a big difference to them.
Your Icthus birthday gift will help provide a Christian club-type program with:
Your gift will also help to strengthen their families and communities. You’ll also help to provide compassionate aid for the children of families suffering from poverty aggravated by Covid-19. In the last few months, the pandemic has gotten significantly worse throughout Latin America.
Tuesday, July 20th is the official date when Icthus began in 1964. It’s also the DEADLINE for your gift to be matched up to $4,000.
Imagine the difference you will make in the life of a little girl or boy in a poor barrio by helping them have Icthus. You’ll encourage them to follow Christ and develop solid Christian character that will help them their whole lives.

A few weeks ago, I traveled to Guatemala to visit Icthus groups. I was saddened to see so many kids in the streets with nothing to do. They are hungry for God’s love; they need Icthus!
Victor is an example. He’s a 12-year-old boy from El Jute, a small village in Guatemala. His father is an alcoholic, and his mother left them. As a result, Victor spends his days alone in the streets.
I met Victor during my trip when I visited the Icthus group at El Jute. During the meeting, he stayed by himself and looked upset. “They don’t like me… and I’m hungry,” Victor shared with me.
Victor came to the group for a snack. To his surprise, he found a loving family in Icthus. The guides welcomed him, Icthus kids played with him, and we prayed for him. Victor’s upset face was gone, and he finally showed his beautiful smile.
Victor came hungry for food and love, and he found both that day! The gifts of amigos, like you, make it possible for kids like Victor to experience God’s love.
I invite you to help more boys and girls who, like Victor, are hungry for God’s love; you can help them find it through Icthus. Please send a birthday gift before July 20th. Your gifted doubled up to $4,000 will help twice as much.
