OUR MISSION
Prepare young people for service and leadership wherever God leads by equipping churches with training and programs.
OUR VISION IS A WORLD OF...
Young people committed to Jesus Christ transforming their families, churches, and communities.
Icthus International is a ministry that helps churches reach children and youth - the largest, most receptive, and yet the most needy segment of the world's population. We carry out this ministry because we believe what the Bible says:
"Bring up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." (Proverbs 22:6)
Icthus provides:
Churches provide:
Using this model, since 1964 the Icthus family has discipled over 100,000 children, partnering with churches and organizations of all denominations in 15 countries.
Young people, 17 years and younger, make up 1/3 of the population of Latin America. This presents a huge need and challenge, as well as opportunities, to communities, schools, churches, and parents because there are so many social, economic, and spiritual problems and decisions young people must face.
Young people are the largest and most significant mission field. It is not necessary to go to a distant country to minister to this important sector of the population. They are all around every church wanting something to do, waiting to be reached.
Churches need more ways of reaching young people. They need tools and assistance to increase their efforts and make a more meaningful impact in this age group.
Parents face challenges in raising their children. Being a parent is more difficult than ever. Many parents are seeking help but don't know where to look.
Icthus is striving to help churches meet these needs in Latin America, as well as in Hispanic churches in the U.S. by providing ministry tools that can be used to help children and youth. Find out how to become a partner and make a donation online.
The Icthus family stretches accross Latin America and the US. It's made of people from all different generations whose lives have been touched by Icthus.
Currently there are some 1,000 guides, serving thousands of young people throughout Latin America and many more former guides and former Icthus Kids. Our team is made up almost entirely of volunteers. We advocate for those who need our help. Even a little help goes a long way.
The family is growing every day, and no matter where you live, you can be part of it. There are many ways to help. Do not hesitate to contact us and become a member of the Icthus family today.
Icthus has been serving young people since 1964. How did the Lord lead a young man to Guatemala to begin a lifetime ministry with Christians and Missionaries that has impacted the lives of more than a hundred thousand people.
