birthday! I'm so grateful for your help to reach young people and change their lives with the gospel.
If you're interested in helping Icthus continue its important work, I have some great news. During the 59th Anniversary, Icthus Amigos pledged to match all donations up to $15,000! Your gift will be doubled, helping even more children and families.
Generous people like you have changed many lives through Icthus for 59 years. I'm amazed at what God has done through Amigos like you. Many thousands of young people have been reached! Today, I want to tell you about one of them. Her name is Dina; she is from Bethania, Colombia
Dina, with her mom Yuleidis and brother, standing outside their home. Their home has no floor, so they walk on packed dirt.
I had the honor to meet Dina and her family on my recent trip to Colombia.
Dina, an 11-year-old Icthus girl, is the oldest of three siblings. She lives with her parents, two younger brothers, and grandparents. Their home is made of wooden panels and is located in a low-lying small village called Bethania next to a branch of the Magdalena River.
The only way to get around in Bethania is by a small, flat-bottomed boat called a “chalupa.” This is because the entire area is situated along the river. The river presents challenges as it is the only way to get to school or church, so they must wait for a chalupa boat to pick them up.
Dina’s family is of very limited means, and they support themselves through various occupations, including farming and fishing. They maintain the land and house they live in, but Dina’s mother worries they could be asked to leave anytime because they are not the owners. She worries about her family’s future.

Despite these challenges, Dina longs for the Icthus meeting each week and does not mind crossing the river to attend. She said:
“Icthus has given me friends who love God as I love Him… it is like an amusement park I visit once a week to have fun and learn about God’s word.”
Icthus has become so important to Dina and her parents that the hurdle of crossing a huge river does not stop them from traveling to her Icthus group every week.
In Icthus, Dina found a place where she enjoys being a kid and learning about God’s love for her while having fun with other kids in a safe and healthy environment.
Dina’s life is changing thanks to the generosity of people like you. But many more kids are waiting for an opportunity to have a place like Icthus. Today, you can help a few more children!
Please consider sending a special birthday gift today to reach even more young people. Your gift will be doubled and make a real difference in the lives of children and families in need. When you give $35, it will be doubled to $70. This means that twice as many children will receive the help they need.
Icthus provides children in Latin America with essential guidance and healthy activities often lacking in poor communities. These programs can significantly impact children’s development, helping them reach their full potential.
Your Icthus birthday gift will help provide children with a Christian club-type program that offers:
- Caring trained leaders who will provide fun, fellowship, and learning in a safe and supportive environment.
- Weekly Icthus meetings where children explore the Bible, learn about Christian values and grow in their faith.
- Encouragement to love the Lord and their neighbor as themselves so that they can become responsible and caring citizens of their communities.

received from the 20th to the 31st of July will be matched up to $15,000.
