Roberto is a seven year old boy who lives in Monteria, Colombia. He had never been to a camp before but was invited by his Icthus group. His mother
almost didn't let him go because she said he was too small, but his guide talked with her and she said yes.
Roberto shares:
"At camp I learned that God guides us. He is our creator and I believe it! We should follow the steps of Jesus and please him in what we do and in the
way we act. During the crafts time I learned how to make manillas and I met many other girls and boys who are in the Heroes program. It was really cool. I liked everything a lot and I
definitely want to go to another camp.
This was the first time I've slept far away from home. At first I was afraid. The first day it rained and the electricity went out and I cried. But
I learned that God never leaves me alone. He's always with me.
Thanks for helping me go to camp. I can't wait till next time!

Many Icthus children cannot afford to pay for camp. Camperships are a way that donors in the US can help children like Roberto to have this great
experience.
