ICTHUS LEADERS IN LATIN AMERICA WHO ARE RAISING SUPPORT
These Icthus leaders have dedicated themselves to working full time or part time to the ministry and are seeking support. If you would like to become a member of the support team of one or more of these
leaders, you can donate online and give a
special or monthly gift. Gifts of $20, $30, $50 or more given monthly would make a significant difference.
DAVID & IRMA MONGE: National
Director for Mexico
CHILDREN: Josúe 20, Linda 17, Yanic 14, Ruth 12
HISTORY WITH ICTHUS: They have been in Icthus for 7 years. They started
Icthus in their church in Izcali Mexico and then started helping other
churches have it as well.
MINISTRY: Currently they are working with some 40 Icthus groups in
Mexico, however the program is beginning to grow. Recently David trained
leaders from 12 churches in Ensenada.
SALOMON & SILVIA MEDINA: National
Director for El Salvador
CHILDREN: Priscila, recently born
HISTORY WITH ICTHUS: Salomon has been with Icthus for at least 15 years.
LEADERSHIP ROLE: Aside from being National Director, he is also
developing a new program for Icthus for 4 to 6 year olds called “Little
Fish”.
MINISTRY: Icthus El Salvador is reaching 17 groups
LUCAS & ROCIO RAMOS: National
Director for Colombia
CHILDREN: Lucas David 20, Ester 13, Ana 17, Samuel 15, and Osías 21
HISTORY WITH ICTHUS: Lucas has been with Icthus at least 20 years, He
started Icthus in his church and school and then throughout the country.
MINISTRY: Icthus Colombia has 50 groups.
DEYSI & JOSE LUIS PARRA:
Regional Director for the Southern Cone
CHILDREN: Jose David 12, Daniel 9 and a baby girl Danna Elizabeth
HISTORY WITH ICTHUS: Deysi is the founder of Icthus in Chile. She
started it in her church and began to share with other churches, now in
other countries of the Southern Cone.
MINISTRY: Icthus in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay Paraguay – 37 groups.
CARLOS AND TATIANA PILQUINAO:
National Directors for Chile
CHILDREN: Millaly 10, Aniray 14
HISTORY WITH ICTHUS: Four years ago they started Icthus in the Northern
zone of Chile – Iquique and worked as guides. They moved to Santiago 2
years ago and started Icthus in their new church. They became the area
coordinators for Santiago. On July 31st they were named as co-national
directors for Chile, replacing Deysi who will dedicate herself to Icthus
in the Southern Cone of South America.
MINISTRY: Chile has some 23 groups.
JORGE & MARTA CHAIRES – Regional
Coordinator for Hidalgo Mexico
CHILDREN: Daughters – Betsabe7 and Brenda 5
HISTORY WITH ICTHUS: - Jorge has been with Icthus for 5 years. He
started out as a guide (leader) in his own church. Since then he has
been very active in starting Icthus in other churches in his town and
the Hidalgo region.
SIZE OF MINISTRY: He has started Icthus groups in 12 churches in his
region of Hidalgo, Mexico.
Ludwick Escobar – National
Coordinator in Guatemala
FAMILY: Single
HISTORY WITH ICTHUS: Five years ago he joined Icthus as a guide in his
church. He became one of the most enthusiastic leaders and in 2002 he
was named National Coordinator working with Julio Paz to start new
groups and also provide camping experiences at the Icthus camp.
MINISTRY: 40 groups in Guatemala.
JULIO & BETTY PAZ – Latin American
Coordinator in Guatemala
CHILDREN: Julio, David, Daniel, Joel, Bianka, and grandchildren
HISTORY WITH ICTHUS: Julio started in Icthus as a child in 1964. He was
in the first Icthus legion in Guatemala City. He grew through the
program and became an assistant guide and then a guide. He met his wife
in Icthus and later they became the first couple to marry in Icthus. He
was named the national director of Icthus and began taking it to other
countries in Latin America. In 1998 he started the Icthus Camp near
Guatemala City.
MINISTRY: Julio runs the Icthus Camp, Gives assistance to Icthus
Guatemala, and Provides counsel to countries throughout Latin America.
